The annual meeting of the Caledonia Regional Chamber of Commerce on January 25 outlined the year’s happenings with about 35 Chamber members. Business profiles were given by Wendy Hillier of Revitalize Massage Therapy, Danny Hoag of ProFit Health Club and Scott Ewing of Scott Electric. Mayor Ken Hewitt was in attendance to look after the election of officers and James Goodram, manager of economic development and tourism, brought everyone up to date on the undertakings of Caledonia streetscape and other Haldimand County initiatives.



Revitalization Caledonia’s retreat at Gateway Church on January 31 drew an enthusiastic attendance of about 35 people to discuss and prioritize findings coming out of surveys initiated by Revitalization.


The Business Achievement Dinner and Awards evening on February 14 at McKinnon Park Secondary School was attended by more than 150 people to congratulate nominees and winners.



Developer Mike Corrado of Springfield Construction Ltd. was with the Chamber’s board of directors at its regular Friday morning meeting on February 17.



Tourism Caledonia, at its regular February 20 meeting, discussed the Ultimate Fishing Town contest at length with Eleanor Devereux of the Caledonia Hunters and Anglers. All Caledonians will be asked to vote for Caledonia as the Ultimate Fishing Town in April and May, the second year for the Hunters and Anglers to get behind this Canadian contest.
